Through your generous donations and grants we seek to add stories and bios about our "Patriots in the Park". This will be organized as Patriots on the Monuments and Patriots on the Bricks. This will come from research and submissions by you! So find those photos, letters and tell us how your Veteran served and lived.... so that all others can learn and appreciate military service as well. As the Park renovaton completes, we hope to have this information searchable within the park and when viewing a memorial, brick or bench .
For now, we share some past Orleans history from our WWII monument dedicated 75 years ago, biographies of those patriots on our bricks who were at D-day June 6, 1944 and our park brick tribute on bricks for each of the Massachusetts Fallen since 9/11 and start of the Gobal War on Terror.
After detailed research, we have updated the rosters of "Orleans home" Veterans on the recently restored World War I, Civil War, and at the new 1812 podium for the Battle of Rock Harbor. The soon to be installed replacement Korea (97) and Vietnam (144) granite monuments will add these 241 Orleans veterans who served.
